EAPC welcomes Jacob Oleksik to the Grand Forks office as an Accounting Intern.
Jacob is currently attending the University of North Dakota and anticipates graduation in December 2018 with a Bachelor of Accountancy.
Jacob has been buffing up his accounting resume (working at EAPC, of course) but he also worked as a Tax Intern this summer for Deloitte Tax, LLC in Minneapolis, focusing specifically in Private Wealth. During a ten-week internship with Deloitte, Jacob was selected with 11 other nationwide interns to participate for four weeks in Deloitte’s Global Intern Program in Hyderabad, India. The purpose of the Global Intern Program is to give a select number of interns a rare opportunity to observe Deloitte’s outsourced operations in their satellite United States India offices. While in India, Jacob was fortunate enough to be able to travel and explore the country during the weekends with the other interns. He was able to see places such as the beaches of Goa on the Arabian Sea as well as the Taj Mahal in North India.
While at EAPC, Jacob hopes to add value to the accounting team.
“Specifically, I would like to learn more about the internal accounting operations and functions within EAPC. And, as I have little knowledge about engineering and architecture, I am eager to learn more about the business operations of this firm.”
After graduation, Jacob plans to work in public accounting for Deloitte Tax.
“I hope to gain a lot of experience in the fast paced environment of big four public accounting. I know that the skills acquired in that environment will be lifelong assets that can be transferred to many other areas.”
Jacob said he is not sure where his career will take him or where he will finish, but said he thinks he has a pretty good idea of where he’d like to start.
When Jacob is isn’t going to school or working, he enjoys reading books, watching movies, woodworking, and being outdoors.
