This project includes the remodel of an existing PT/OT area on the main floor of Bismarck Sanford Medical Center into an ICU/patient observation unit. All existing elements of the area were completely removed and replaced with new construction.

This 11,250 SF unit includes six intensive care, five intermediate care, and three observation rooms in support of the adjacent emergency care suite. In addition, patient and staff support and equipment rooms were provided. Mechanical, plumbing, piping, and electrical systems were upgraded. A negative air system was installed to treat Coronavirus patients if the need arises. The expansion brings the hospital’s total bed count to 242.
