This project converted a former labor and delivery suite into an infusion suite with chemo pharmacy support area within current healthcare and pharmacy regulations.
The suite has space for two chairs with a divider wall. The wood wall with acrylic glass not only allows light into the space but also slides open to allow patients receiving treatment to talk with one another. With the divider closed, the two parties have complete privacy.
The small nurse station, located across from the treatment area, allows for constant patient monitoring and access in case of emergency. Next to the suite is a new state of the art cancer pharmacy. The pharmacy follows current regulations and is accessed by an ante room where staff gown and prepare for entering the clean room area in the medicine preparation room.
The project also included the remodel of the existing pharmacy office and medicine preparation room in a separate wing of the hospital.
