This facility is the fifth fire station for the City of Grand Forks and its construction was meant to help reduce response time to the expanding south side of Grand Forks. In addition, the station includes a fuel depot that is now used by all city vehicles to reduce fuel usage and time spent driving north to the main fueling depot. The Fire Department also included a separate office area within the station that serves as a satellite office used primarily by the police department as an area to do their paperwork without having to travel to the main police station.

The facility includes a dining room/kitchen, living room, four bedrooms/bathrooms, two public toilets, a meeting room, captain’s office, covered exterior patio, storm shelter, exercise room, two drive-through apparatus bays, a new SCBA room for the entire department, storage, and a mobile police office.
