From grocery store to an Ambulatory Care Center, this adaptive re-use renovation transformation will serve the local community well into the changing future.

It now includes two new general radiographic rooms. EAPC provided room layout design expertise and coordination of vendor equipment implementation within the new rooms.

EAPC and Essentia Health have created a trusted partnership over the last four years developing and renovating ambulatory and acute care locations in the Minnesota and North Dakota area. Through these projects, the team developed a clinical module that aligns with Essentia Health’s integrated care model, allowing patients to be seen by a range of healthcare providers in one setting and one visit, ranging from their primary care physician to a pharmacist and physical therapist.

The innovative clinical module is designed as an on-stage/off-stage model with a concourse, allowing for more communication and team interaction during care delivery. There are no private offices, but rather collaborative work rooms for each care team, with small pods for private phone calls or other work.
The waiting area features digital check-in and flexible seating. Exam rooms with soundproof sliding doors are 30% larger than standard to accommodate families and care teams.

A new patient entrance/drop-off canopy and drive through pharmacy was added along with upgrades to parking, signage, lighting and landscaping design for easy and convenient access for visitors and patients.

With dual entries in exam rooms and corridors dedicated to staff and patients, this clinic is well suited to deal with the unique conditions needed to treat COVID patients.
