From grocery store to an Ambulatory Care Center, this adaptive re-use renovation transformation will serve the local community well into the changing future.
Before
  • EAPC provided room layout design expertise and coordination of vendor equipment implementation for this remodeled space, formerly a Pamida store
  • EAPC and Essentia Health have created a trusted partnership developing and renovating ambulatory and acute care locations in the Minnesota and North Dakota area
  • Our collaborative team developed a clinical module that aligns with Essentia Health’s integrated care model, allowing patients to be seen by a range of healthcare providers in one setting and one visit, ranging from their primary care physician to a phlebotomist, radiologist, pharmacist and physical therapist
  • The innovative clinical module is designed as an on-stage/off-stage model with a concourse, allowing more communication and team interaction during care delivery
  • Collaborative work rooms replace private offices for each care team, with small pods for private phone calls or other work
  • Waiting area features digital check-in and flexible social distance seating
  • Exam rooms with soundproof sliding doors are 30% larger than standard to accommodate families and care teams
  • Includes 18 exam rooms as well as procedure space, a large physical, occupational, and speech therapy department, two new general radiographic rooms, and a state-of-the-art MRI room
  • New patient entrance/drop-off canopy and drive through pharmacy was added along with upgrades to parking, signage, lighting, and landscaping design for easy and convenient access for visitors and patients
  • Current services offered at the clinic include therapy, MRI, primary care, and walk-in care
  • Future services planned include orthopedics, podiatry, and surgical services
  • Dual entries in exam rooms and corridors dedicated to staff and patients makes this clinic well suited to handle the unique conditions needed to treat COVID patients
