Electric Arc Furnace

EAPC designed a plant expansion of the mechanical, structural, and electrical items necessary to install a new lime storage silo, dry material blending system, furnace cooling water tower and reservoir, and 25,000 SF building addition. Additional ancillary systems were added such as enhancements to the cooling water piping network and furnace exhaust gas ducting.

Concrete foundations were installed to support the new lime silo and cooling water reservoir. The building addition was laid out and specified to be a new pre-engineered metal building package. The building addition was fitted with ventilation fans and unit heaters. The blending system involved new tote enclosures, four new screw conveyors, a bucket elevator, and a new blender. The entire blending system was tied together with a new control system.
