EAPC Welcomes Sam Wilke to our Fargo office as Structural Department Manager

Sam is back at EAPC and eager to establish a new direction for the structural department as Structural Department Manager.

Sam previously worked with us from late 2009 to early 2014 out of EAPC’s Bismarck office. He then was employed as Structural Division Manager at AE2S in Fargo, overseeing their structural engineering services, managing projects, mentoring employees, and assisting in business development and construction administration. Over the past two weeks, Sam has been getting reacclimated to EAPC culture and staff and he said he is excited for the future of EAPC.

“It is awesome to be back at EAPC. When I left a few years ago, I knew I had left behind a number of great colleagues. EAPC’s diverse project variety keeps me interested, engaged, challenged, and passionate about the profession.”

Sam is working out of EAPC’s Fargo office and looks to provide his leadership and collaboration across our office locations.

“We will continue to service both the Industrial and Building divisions while continuing to grow structural engineering services. I look forward to helping EAPC further establish itself as the market leader and become a destination for structural engineering services.”

Originally from Mantorville, MN, Sam holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Wisconsin in Platteville and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Sam said that throughout his career, he has learned a thing or two when it comes to project approach, client relations, and management style.

“Don’t be afraid to ask questions and make mistakes. Early in my career I learned a lot by completing work ‘wrong’ and making mistakes during the design process. It wasn’t that my work product was necessarily ‘wrong’ but that there were better ways to accomplish it. If you truly listen to those around you, it’s easier to professionally mature and continually improve.”

Sam said he has been fortunate to have been exposed to some excellent mentors; those that have shown what to do and those that have shown what not to do.

Sam and his wife Tammy have two boys, Carsen (7th grade) and Ethan (4th grade). In addition to enjoying family activities, Sam said he is a fan of NDSU and owns a number of Thundar bobbleheads. He enjoys football, baseball, basketball and recently has been coaching youth activities. He also is an avid hunter, fisherman, and is working to revive his golf game.

Welcome back to EAPC, Sam!
