This project involved an 11,000 SF addition to the existing Stevens Hall. This addition houses the teaching labs for Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy/Physiology and Physics, as well as lab support spaces and staff offices. In addition, the project provides a student study lounge/student work space to augment the academic experience at WCS. Some specifics of the project include; fully accessible lab design, the use of five Fume Hoods and three Biological Safety Cabinets and the incorporation of IT (interactive technology) into the labs. The Microbiology lab incorporates BSL-2 (biological safety level) technology to allow a much more intensive curriculum within the biology discipline. Safety was also at the forefront in all aspects of the classroom and support lab design.
