After the existing floor slab was evaluated, preparations were made for a new cooling floor.

The new concrete cooling floor was overlaid on top of the existing floor and consisted of HDPE cooling pipes placed on a 4” on-center spacing. New reverse headers were used to balance out the distribution supply and return flows and an isolation valve was used to isolate one section of curling floor as well as related construction.

EAPC aggressively managed the construction costs and project budgeting to minimize budget impacts on the NDSF. The team also self-performed many small tasks to keep the construction progress moving.
