This new state-of-the-art facility enhances the preparedness and response capabilities for the MHA Nation on the Fort Berthold Reservation.

Emergency Operations Center

  • Designed for the coordination of all services, departments, and agencies for the mitigation, response, and recovery from man-made and natural disasters
  • 4 vehicular apparatus bays, personnel temporary living quarters, multiple training/conference spaces, a state-of-the-art situation room/storm shelter, a Public Information Center for media announcements, a call center, a safe room, and an alternate law enforcement dispatch space
  • Large lobby entrance with security center controls
  • Support spaces including full kitchen with large dining space that can transition into an additional operations center, toilet facilities, work room, fitness space, and 6 staff offices
  • Facility will serve as a central hub of coordination and control during large-scale disasters and complex emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community alongside other emergency services and critical infrastructure on the reservation

Fire Management Center

  • Designed for the protection, prevention, and suppression of wildland fires on the Fort Berthold Reservation
  • 4 vehicular apparatus bays with a training area for chain saws and other fire suppression equipment, equipment storage, locker room support spaces, conference/multi-purpose room and 5 staff offices
  • Facility will support the growth and retention of the tribe’s Wildland Firefighters, a group dedicated to the community for more than 30 years
