The Kindred Fire Station addition includes a 60’ x 75’ pre-engineered metal building on the north side providing five apparatus bays allowing circulation space around the vehicles. The apparatus bay includes three water filling stations, an exhaust removal system, and a compressed air system.

The new training tower provides a training stair with access to an exterior platform and interior balcony, which allows for rappelling and rope training. It also includes a manhole for confined space training and anchor points for ladder training. The interior-exterior relationship of the training tower provides training opportunities throughout the year.

A larger training room was designed within the renovated existing building and can host classes and meetings for the entire District team. A catering kitchen is included, providing space for member use and to host community and fundraising events. Separate private office space was designed as well as new windows added to the existing building in both the training room and offices, allowing for access to views and daylight. The building design includes a new ventilation and air circulation system, as well as LED lighting within the new addition while reusing the existing high bay light fixture. The addition includes a laundry room and turn-out gear room.
