The wastewater treatment plant at this facility was upgraded for increased capacity and to increase discharge water quality. A new 110′ diameter clarifier was designed and installed to accomplish these goals. The new wastewater clarifier was tied into the existing systems where the aeration basins were upstream. All new pumps were installed in a new concrete pump building beside the clarifier with a new MCC room on the top floor.
The new clarifier helped reduce ammonia and BOD levels in the wastewater so it could be discharged directly to a local river, if desired.
