Keeping families together

Good Samaritan Society in Fargo, ND offers assisted living and basic-care living. The Society recognized that seniors are moving to metro areas where their children and families are residing so they can all be closer. In response to the growth and changes of the community, this one-story addition added 19,560 SF to the facility which already featured two wings that totaled 62,620 SF and 48 resident apartments. The original facility opened in 2008.

The new wing addition added 24 single bedroom/bathroom apartments to the facility as well as common-area and family-area space, and a 1,200 SF dining and activities room.

The intent of the design was to match the existing facility as much as possible. The full service design was completed Summer 2016 with construction starting the following fall.

Landscaping included a 30×30’ picnic shelter with extensive shrub and tree plantings. The entire facility was re-carpeted with other minor face lift updates. HVAC upgrades included electric reheat VAV boxes for better zoning and the resolution of humidity issues throughout the facility.
