EAPC is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, technically exceptional Mechanical Engineer for our Sioux Falls, SD and Grand Forks, ND offices. The Mechanical Engineer will perform HVAC design, plumbing design, energy retrofit analysis, and LEED design for low to mid-rise commercial, medical, educational and industrial structures, with continuation of each design into construction administration phase tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Related Field
  • Four Years of Directly Related Experience
  • Ability to be Licensed in ND or SD within Three Months of Employment are Preferred
  • Excellence Using Computerized Analysis and Design Tools Preferred, Basic Experience Required
  • Basic Experience with Computerized Analysis and Design Tools Required, Excellence Preferred
  • Priority Given to Experience with TRACE 700, Ground Loop Design, and eQuest
  • Highly Creative Skills
  • Experience with Design Detailing, and Construction Documentation
  • Excellent Presentation Skills
  • Excellent Communication and Follow Through Skills
  • Excellent Design Skills and Attention to Detail
  • Appreciation for Creative and Thoughtful Design

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assisting Mechanical Department Manager as well as Individual Project Managers with Development and Management of Project Budgets, Scopes, Fees, and Production Coordination with Progression toward Independently Performing these Duties
  • Work as an Integrated Member of a Multi-Discipline, In-House Team of Engineers, Architects, and Drafting Specialists working withing AutoCAD and REVIT

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking. Position may require travel up to 20-30% of the work week, including occasional overnight stays out of town. Must have a willingness to work in construction sites and outdoor environments. Position may require occasional evenings and weekends, with overtime expectations of approximately 10%, varying with workload. This position may involve handling challenging situations. Position may require occasionally lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
