We are pleased to welcome Peter Bates, Mechanical Engineer, EIT, to our Sioux Falls office.
Peter graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. While attending school, Peter completed an internship with Showplace Cabinetry then started his full-time position upon graduation, as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Sentry where he designed steel components and led the design and development of products.
In December of 2020, Peter went to work for O’Connor Company as a Project Specialist where he reviewed mechanical drawings, schedules, and specifications to construct project bids on HVAC equipment and he also managed awarded projects. Peter said his experience at O-Connor highlighted his interest in HVAC design.
HVAC is an often hidden and complex industry that directly effects people’s health and comfort. I find enjoyment in working to find solutions that help mitigate airborne diseases and create safe environments.
In his role at EAPC, Peter will design systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety.

As newlyweds (since Nov. 2021), Peter and his wife Kari enjoy rock climbing, sand volleyball, and biking.
