Our Bismarck office has a new team member, Christopher Demery, a mechanical engineer (EIT) for our Industrial Services Group

Chris, a Rolla, ND native, comes to EAPC with seven years of commercial construction and engineering experience, most recently working for Pioneer Power, Inc,. in Woodbury, MN as a project manager. Chris was responsible for managing subcontractors, change orders, material and equipment vendors, project documentation, project schedules and coordination. Chris also worked as a piping turnaround field engineer/planner for this same company prior to moving in to project management. As a field engineer, Chris provided services to multiple refineries in St. Paul Park and Rosemount, MN.

“I have worked on the contractor side of projects throughout my career and for some time now have wanted to be part of the engineering design side. That drew me to EAPC.”

Chris is looking to obtain his PE license in the near future and looks forward to gaining valuable experience and knowledge in a variety of industrial areas.

“I want to be well-rounded and learn how each industry works to provide the best solutions for our clients.”

Chris recalls his first turnaround project at the Potash Fertilizer Plant in Lima, Ohio that resulted in some lessons learned.

“I planned for an 11-month turnaround, followed by execution of my projects during the turnaround. Throughout this duration, I learned how to manage multiple crews, stay ahead of the crews on work fronts, schedule multiple crafts for a specific task, and prioritize higher vs lower importance work scopes all while working in a high stress, fast paced environment. I also discovered that little mistakes/misses in the planning phase could lead to major hang-ups during a turnaround, which ultimately gave me great insight for future projects.”

When off the clock, Chris enjoys playing golf and video games, working on house/vehicle projects, and building miscellaneous items (he’s built a coffee table, end tables, a small entertainment center, and pipe lamps…). Wow…can we say “multi-talented”? Chris said he also like to just relax with a good movie/TV show.

Welcome to EAPC, Chris!
