In January 2017, EAPC began working with White Earth Nation to provide full architectural planning and design services for their Health Center Expansion and Renovation project.

The project was originally scoped for a 7,000 SF expansion and 21,000 SF (of the 50,000 available) renovation with potential to grow. EAPC also provided LEAN services.

EAPC has provided services to this client in the past, most recently the Workforce Center project in Naytauwaush completed last fall, and the Giwanikimin Housing project completed in 2015 that included 20 apartments in four buildings as well as a community center. Other projects for White Earth Nation have included the Pow Wow Grounds and Community Center both completed in 2008.

Over the past year, EAPC has worked through the program and conceptual planning phase, provided a LEAN Assessment with a multiple of deliverables, and facilitated an Employee Satisfaction Survey.

The design team recently presented the final Schematic Design which included a 34,000 SF addition and 36,000 SF renovation. This project has substantially grown in scope and budget but EAPC has the approval from Indian Health Services, White Earth Health Center Administration, and the tribe to continue our design efforts and the planning to start the construction of a multi-phased project over two to three years.

The expansion will provide new space for patient registration/benefits, primary care, pharmacy, physical therapy, dental, conference/training rooms and the facilities entry/lobby/waiting. Renovated areas will include radiology, lab, eye care, audiology, behavioral health, WIC, administration, medical records, and IT.
