The existing 6,300 SF, seven pediatrician department was expanded to 9,200 SF providing for 10 full time pediatricians, office/exam and support space. The enlarged waiting room developed into this project's design feature.
Creating an atmosphere that would provide a comforting experience and appeal to small children and preteens was the goal of the expansion and remodeling of the Pediatrics Department. The "Under the Sea'" theme was chosen for its timelessness. The key design element is the original mural created by local artists that makes one feel like they are within an aquarium. Floor and wall finishes and chair fabrics support the sea life theme. An interactive jungle mural for younger children is the key feature in teh playroom. The cnocept of water and fish is carried throughout the corridors and exam rooms to complete the experience.
EAPC services included programming, code analysis, architectural, interior design, estimating, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
